southwold munchies was born in january 2009 along with our first son jack. southwold munchies immediately made a huge impression on southwold
Many local businesses choose us as their morning coffee and meeting destination, Yummy mummy’s meet for morning chats after dropping the kids at school and local people pop in for a chat about southwold life.
we immediately became popular for our fry ups, suffolk produce breakfast baps and sandwiches including blythburgh pork sausages, suffolk dry cure back bacon, free range eggs and vine tomatoes for breakfast.
lunches are made with steaming bowls of homemade suffolk red poll beef casserole hot pots and homemade soups from local produce with asparagus being the biggest seller by far. In the summer months we make lighter lunches such as greek feta salad, cromer crab salads and suffolk hot smoked salmon salads with horesradish creme fraiche and a chunky brown local baked roll. We have our own local suppliers in southwold that don't travel to aldeburgh such as Normans lettuces and herbs from his field in reydon and lots of fruit and veg from the wangford farm shop.
lowestoft based fish merchant andy clarke supplies all the fresh fish and he also stocks up aldeburgh munchies and runs the wet fish counter in the aldeburgh market so we can always run over the road and pick up extra supplies when we run out!
southwold munchies has a passionate and motivated team who are dedicated to customer service and food excellence in a relaxed, bright, light cafe with views of the southwold lighthouse and our own ice cream parlour. we employee local staff and use all local suppliers, so we hope you can see that we want to be efficient with food miles and staff miles and so far so good.
southwold munchies has over the past few years built an amazing team of staff and an amazing loyal set of customers; both local and holiday makers.
